INTREPID students confronted their demons by climbing one of Britain's highest mountains.
The 18 pupils from Blackheath High School, Vanbrugh Park, Blackheath, conquered the 1,085m-high Mount Snowdon, in north Wales.
The students took part in the climb as part of an exercise by teachers to boost pupils' self-confidence.
Teacher Karen Warwick said: "I think with most young women their self-confidence is quite low and they need to take more risks.
"The sense of achievement they feel is fantastic. We are all very proud of them."
Climbing student Fatma Mustafa, 15, said: "I felt great when I completed the climb.
"I couldn't wait to get home and tell everyone I'd done it."
