A MUSIC company has bagged more than £4,000 of Lottery funding to work on a new schools' project.
Shiva Nova, an eclectic musical company, is set to put on six weeks of workshops with schools across Gravesham.
It follows a grant of £4,340 from the Cultural Opportunities Fund.
The aim of the workshops is to establish a girls-only global orchestra.
The new youth ensemble will fuse eastern and western musical traditions.
Those involved will have the chance to take part in a range of music activities, from DJ-ing to classical music.
Shiva Nova's artistic director Priti Paintal, said: "This project links artistically with how Shiva Nova works.
"Musicians from different cultures are exploring new ways of music-making."
