A MOTORCYCLIST died on Christmas Eve after he crashed into a roundabout at 60mph, an inquest has heard.
Gravesend Coroner's Court was told how Ian Armstrong, 38, was thrown from his Yamaha motorbike by the impact of the collision.
He landed on the eastern side of the A206 at the junction with Joyce Green Lane, Dartford.
Another motorcyclist travelling alongside Mr Armstrong fled the scene following the accident and has not been traced.
Sergeant Mark Lamb, of the collision investigation unit, said three streetlights near the roundabout were broken and road markings were unclear.
Mr Armstrong, from Putney, south west London, was taken to Darent Valley Hospital, where he died from a ruptured aorta and haemorrhaging.
Coroner Roger Hatch recorded a verdict of accidental death at Gravesend Coroner's Court on November 9.
