A PUB has been granted extended opening hours, despite complaints from the police and environmental health.
The Chequers pub, in Darenth Road South, Darenth, will remain open from 11am to 11pm with an additional 20 minutes' drinking up time from Monday to Wednesday.
It will be open from 11am to 11.30pm with 30 minutes' drinking up time on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and from noon to 10.30pm with 20 minutes' drinking up time on Sundays.
The pub was also granted permission to play live and recorded music at specified times.
Police objected to the application on the grounds of crime and disorder and Dartford Council's environmental health officer claimed the extended hours would cause noise nuisances to residents.
Dartford Council's licensing sub-committee also considered a written objection about noise and parking problems from a nearby resident before making its decision.
