THE Sikh community has donated £5,000 to help victims of the Pakistan earthquake.
The money was raised by members from Nanak Darbar Grudwara Gravesend's Sikh temple.
Members began collecting donations from the 500-strong congregation shortly after the disaster happened on October 8.
The cash will be used to provide food, clothing or housing for some of the victims.
An estimated 87,000 people are believed to have died following the quake.
Committee member Jagdev Singh Virdee said: "It is a gesture of goodwill and sympathy for those who have suffered.
"The money will go to those who need it most."
The donation was presented to the Gravesend and Dartford Muslims' Association on November 6.
