CHILDREN have discovered the joy of reading after a week of fun to celebrate words.
To mark book week at Sutton-at Hone Primary School, teachers lined up a range of activities to inspire their 250 pupils, aged between four and 11 years old.
Youngsters enjoyed storytelling sessions and dressed up as characters from their favourite novels.
They also attended workshops by children's author Chris Powling.
Deputy headteacher Debbie Hockey said: "The children have been bursting with interest about books this week.
"It has allowed them to discover books they would not have normally seen."
The event at the school in Church Road, Dartford, was organised to inspire the youngsters to read more regularly.
