YOUNG swimmers made a splash to raise money to help a mother buy cancer-fighting drugs.
Members of Orpington-based Ojays Swimming Club were inspired by the News Shopper story of Senay Pasifull, 34, who needs £40,000 to buy the drug herceptin and stop her breast cancer returning.
The youngsters swam between 40 and 60 lengths at St Olave's school pool, Goddington Lane, Orpington, and raised almost £600.
Mathew Norris, 12, and Mollie Mathews, 12, from Darrick Wood School and Jack Quinn, 13, from Lewisham, swam the fastest times.
Coach Eve Powis said: "I like to do something to give my swimmers a bit of a kick because it can get repetitive swimming up and down.
"We wanted to help this lady because she is from the area and has two young children."
Miss Pasifull's two sons are five and 18 months old.
