BECKENHAM PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
There were some interesting entries in the recent inter-club competition with Mitcham Camera Club.
Close-ups of an amaryllis showed the texture of the petals in fine detail as well as the interesting patterns created by the subtle shades of pinks and reds. The Stamens of the flower were shown in pin-sharp detail.
Another close-up shot, was of a Kingfisher, again the colours and texture of the feathers were shown in fine detail. The effect was enhanced by the out of focus posts in the background.
Decor' by Renne Van Dijk was a still-life of an Art Deco tea service; the simple patterns, colours and balance of the print were improved by the varying widths of the four sides of the mount.
The society meets every Wednesday at Clockhouse Methodist Church Hall. For further details contact Peter Bidwell on 020 8462 7306.
