HAYES (KENT) EVENING TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILD
We were kept enthralled viewing slides of the wonderful array of articles made by Mr Stan Hollands during his working life spanning 50 years as a Goldsmith and Silversmith.
We had the various features and intricacies explained to us during the illustrated talk and we all felt in awe of such superb craftsmanship. Clients throughout the world own many of these special commissions.
Any item made for royalty will always be boxed with details inscribed on the external case so that one can easily identify date, and background. The talk was interspersed with many humorous tales. An excellent evening.
Do support the Hayes Free Church Christmas Tree Festival from December 2-11 that is being organised to benefit the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Our group will be represented there with our decorated tree, outlining our activities. We will be alongside other trees, totalling 30, which are being supported by various organisations within the community.
We will be meeting at Pickhurst Junior School at 7.45pm on Wednesday December 7 for a talk by Mr John Beckham on Common Birds of Parks, Gardens and Woodlands' followed by refreshments.
There will be a charge for this special evening of £2. As is our custom at our Christmas meeting we extend a warm welcome to relatives and friends of our members to join us on this occasion.
