CHILDREN were delighted when ex-Playschool presenter Floella Benjamin visited their school.
Her visit to Hawes Down Infant School, The Mead, West Wickham, came at the end of the school's annual book week.
This year the five to seven-year-old pupils welcomed a theatre company, visited West Wickham Library and Bromley Central Library and brought in their favourite books.
Acting headteacher Gill Duffin said: "We were delighted to welcome Floella Benjamin to school.
"The visit marked the end of an exciting book week and gave the children a first-hand opportunity to hear about Floella's book Coming to England."
Ms Benjamin's autobiographical book is about her family's move from Trinidad to England when she was young and how she had to adjust to a new life.
