THE survival of Leavesden Film Studios, which has been facing the possibility of closure for months, may be ensured by the exploits of a young wizard.

The wizard in question is Harry Potter, star of the popular children's books by J.K. Rowling, whose adventures will be brought to the screen at Leavesden Studio by Warner Bros.

Warner Bros has already taken offices in the studios in South Way to conduct the pre-production process and the search is on for a boy to star as the schoolboy wizard.

A studio spokesman said: 'We are trying to keep going.'
