Formerly known as The Fiddle Puppets, Footworks has been performing its exuberant fusion of live music, comedy, singing and a dazzling array of percussive dances since 1979.

Their dynamic display of step dancing has had audiences in raptures for 21 years now.

And it's no surprise when you see their repertoire. There's Irish and Scottish jigs, tap dances, Appalachian clogging, South American gumboot dancing and even English rapper and sword dancing!

However, for many the highlight is the exhilarating, syncopating, body-slappin' "hambone" dance... you need to see it to believe it.

Footworks has become renowned for respecting the integrity of traditional dance while staging it to meet professional performance standards.

The company has trained with masters of many forms of traditional percussive dance and worked with performers from many cultures.

The group hits The Stag in Sevenoaks this Saturday night at 7.30pm for the closing night of the Sevenoaks Festival. Tickets are available from 01732 450175.

And if you're up for the Greenwich and Docklands Festival appearance, you'll catch the team at Festival Central, next to the Cutty Sark, this Sunday. Tickets are a tenner on 020 8858 7755.
