Wandsworth's wonders were revealed to an admiring public last week at the launch of a heritage trail around the town centre.
Visitors were taken on a 20-minute tour around landmarks of the past, present and future by costumed guides.
All heritage trail walks begin with Wandsworth in the present from the High Street on Wandle Bridge, outside the former Arndale Shopping Centre.
People can then visit the past or the future, depending on the choice of trail.
Other places of interest include Young's Brewery - the oldest brewery in Britain - and the world's first horse-drawn railway, which ran from Wandsworth to the North Downs. Call Wandsworth Museum, on 020 8871 7074, or join the Wandsworth Historical Society on 020 8789 1654.
