School children sat transfixed by the story-telling of resident Ron Lewis who painted life growing up in an Afro-Caribbean family.
The event was part of a month-long celebration of Black History. Libraries will have book displays to illustrate Hounslow's culturally diverse community.
Readers will encouraged to discover Black and Asian writers, nursery rhymes from around the world and new children's books.
