A rich gallery of obsessives make up the cast of a new play The Observed which is coming to the Battersea Arts Centre.
Life has never been safer, yet we scurry through our sheltered lives anaesthetised by an array of plastics, drivers airbags and double-strength bleaches - so why are we so nervous?
To grapple with this paradox, The Observed presents a rich gallery of obsessives. From loners and agoraphobics to angel worshippers, this looks at anxiety in the 21st century and introduces you to a series of characters you would not want to share a tube carriage with.
The Observed is the latest piece from Inventive Development Company and is directed by Steven Canny of Theatre de Complicite.
It opens on Wednesday August 8. For bookings and further details call 020 7223 2223.
