One of the most baffling cases ever to tax Scotland Yard still unsolved after more than 100 years is coming to Wimbledon in the form a rock opera.
'Yours Truly Jack The Ripper' opens at Wimbledon Studio Theatre next week and takes a sometimes comical look at the terror which held Victorian London in its grip.
Set in 1888 in smog-riddled Victorian Whitechapel, it's a nightmarish tale of murder and mutilation, one of the greatest mysteries of all time.
Who was Jack the Ripper? A psychopath, doctor, butcher? Why did he stop killing when he did? Was he connected to the Royal family?
Frogg Moody, co-writer of the show, says: "The story of Jack the Ripper is the greatest murder mystery the world has ever known. London was panic stricken even Queen Victoria was moved to take action."
'Yours Truly Jack The Ripper' may not shed any new light on the mystery nor offer any solutions, but it does promise a great night out. It opens on November 12.
