In an article (WBN, October 26) about the Greater London Assembly's (GLA) report on nuclear waste trains travelling through London, Councillor Samantha Heath completely failed to mention that it is almost entirely due to the Green Party's efforts that this issue got onto the GLA's agenda at all.
Of the four main parties in London, the Green Party has stood alone on this issue for several years, campaigning and drawing attention to the potential dangers posed to London by the presence of these nuclear cargoes in our city.
Furthermore, it was on the initiative of the Green Party GLA members that the GLA took up the matter in the first place.
While we appreciate support on this issue from Labour, we take a dim view of their failure to give credit where it is due.
