A blind woman from Putney is planning to leap into the unknown in memory of her late brother.
Nicki Davies's brother Spencer a keen parachute jumper was just 25 when he was killed in a road accident five years ago.
"Spencer jumped 3,000ft shortly before he died to raise money for liver disease and he was very keen to try 10,000ft.
"I thought it would be good to do the jump he would have done if he'd had the chance."
Ms Davies is jumping with her sighted friend Rob Carvell to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Trust.
She said: "I was a bit nervous before but now I'm really excited and looking forward to it."
So far Ms Davies has raised £450 for the jump, which takes place on November 24 in Oxfordshire, and hopes to raise £4,000.
Donations can be sent to the Anthony Nolan Trust at 120 London Road, Morden, SM4 5AT or call the trust on 020 8286 4561.
