Despite two trials, Surrey's indoor team were unable to find a team to beat old enemy Kent who have proved dominant both outdoors and indoors, writes Geoff Martyr.
Surrey were behind from the first end at Victory IBL in Portsmouth a situation which never changed.
Kent appeared to show more enthusiasm and exuberance but Surrey's rink one, skipped by Ian Honnor, did try and set a good example.
Perhaps the selectors will be regretting their decision to leave some of their younger players who have great potential on the bench.
