Food for free, and plenty of it, will be the message of a famous chef when he gives a talk next Friday.
Britain's leading exponent of Italian cooking and renowned authority on the subject of wild food Antonio Carluccio will talk about his new book, Goes Wild, as part of a series of literary lunchtimes at Cabot Hall, Canary Wharf.
It promises to be a fascinating, not to say mouth-watering event, as the audience will also have the chance to chat to this expert enthusiast with a view to picking up tips for collecting and preparing wild food in their own kitchens.
The new book reflects years of intense interest in and a deep knowledge of wild food everything from stinging nettles and crab apples to truffles, strawberries and crayfish.
Carluccio revels in the natural bounty of the woods, fields, hedgerows and seashore and the book describes some 60 wild ingredients, each with a brief history, aid to identification, where and how to gather and how to prepare them.
The literary lunchtimes ticket price of £3 includes a glass of wine or soft drink on arrival. Carluccio's book will also be available for purchase and signing.
