TAXI fares in Dartford are set to rise after the council approved new charges to fares.
Dartford Borough Council has allowed the rise in fares in order to let local cabbies keep their vehicles in proper working order.
The changes will mean residents will have to pay the same amount, but travel 100m less.
The new charge will be £2 for the first 914m and a further 10p for every subsequent 105m, if there are between one and four passengers travelling.
For vehicles carrying between five and eight passengers there is a charge of £3 for the first 914m and 10p for every subsequent 68m.
