ROBBERS got lucky this week when they entered a closed newsagents and managed to steal thousands of pounds from an open safe.
Their stroke of good fortune occurred on Thursday last week when the four unarmed male bandits attempted to break into Crow's Newsagents and Post Office at 5.30pm.
Despite being closed they did not have to work very hard to gain entry to the store, which is located in Station Parade, Chiswick, because the door was unlocked.
Upon entering, one of the suspects, who is 5ft 8ins, of thin build and wore a grey jumper, dark trousers and a red and yellow scarf, threatened the owner. After going behind the counter area he grabbed the shocked man and held him forcibly before making him open the till and helping himself to several hundred pounds.
The fourth suspect, who is 5ft 9ins, of medium build, clean shaven, and wore a baseball hat, navy sweatshirt, blue jeans and white trainers, then went to the safe and, finding it unlocked, took £10,000. All four then fled the store and drove off in a 'K' registration silver Vauxhall cavalier.
