Plans to flatten dozens of trees in Colindale have been branded 'absolutely scandalous' by residents.
Birmingham-based Task Investments wants to build six blocks of six flats on land near the M1 motorway behind Colin Crescent.
Colin Crescent resident Phil Stevens described it as a ludicrous planning application, adding: "At the moment it is like having a wood at the back of our garden."
A Barnet Council spokesman said an area tree protection order covered the land. Members of the council's Hendon area planning sub-committee are expected to consider the outline application on Wednesday.
