Streatham-Croydon 32 bt Kingston 20
Streatham continued their good form with an impressive victory at Kingston on Saturday.
Winger Gavin Calloo opened the scoring after pressure from the Streatham three-quarters forced Kingston into a series of handling errors.
Although Kingston replied with a try five minutes later, Calloo soon restored the lead for Streatham after good work from fullback JJ Joyce. Having taken a catch deep in his own half, Joyce attacked the Kingston right wing and sent Calloo over under the posts.
Kingston worked hard and after making good use of their powerful forwards to punch holes in the Streatham defence, were rewarded with two tries late in the first half.
But the half-time introduction of the Ford-Hunt brothers from the Streatham bench added pace and power to the visitors' three-quarters and both were on the scoreboard within 10 minutes.
Second-row forward Steve Ventor was beginning to assert himself at both the line-out and loose play to give Streatham the edge in the forwards whilst their backs were able to deal with any Kingston attacks with relative ease.
