The Croydon under-12 girls hockey tournament took place at the Monks Hill Sport Centre with seven primary and secondary school teams from Croydon and Surrey competing on Wednesday, November 7.
The teams were placed into two pools and played a series of games in a round robin format. The results of the pool games determined the make-up of the cross over games and then positional games. In pool one, Croydon High A' won all three of their games, scoring eight goals while conceding none, with Oval Primary with a loss and two scoreless draws as pool runners-up.
In pool two, the top two teams were Oxted with two wins and the St.Joseph's Junior A' taking second place from Croydon High B' on goal difference.
In the semis, Croydon High A' beat St.Joseph Junior A' 3-0 to secure their place in the final while Oxted beat Oval Primary 1-0.
In the third and fourth place playoff, an all primary game saw St.Joseph's Junior beat Oval Primary 3-0.
The final was a much closer affair with Croydon High A' coming out winners over Oxted 1-0.
Final Postions: 1st Croydon High A'; 2nd Oxted; 3rd St.Joseph's Junior A'; 4th Oval Primary; 5th Croydon High B'; 6th St.Joseph's Junior B'; 7th Selsdon.
