THE beauty and diversity of Surrey is the subject of a new book of colour photographs by landscape photographer Derek Foss.
The Landscapes of Surrey boasts some spectacular visual imagery as well as some fascinating and informative text from author Graham Collyer.
It portrays many famous places, such as Box Hill, the Magna Carta and Kennedy memorials at Runnymede and the Royal Horticultural Society's Gardens at Wisley.
Also included are lesser known treasures such as the Queen Victoria Memorial on Cobham Common, the once isolated downlands villages of Chiddingfold and Dunsfold and Farnham Park, once full of deer and the scene of royal hunts.
The Staines Guardian has five copies of The Landscapes of Surrey to give away to the first five readers who send in their name, address and daytime contact number on a postcard to Sherelle Folkes, Staines Guardian, Ground Floor Annexe, Hayes Gate House, 27 Uxbridge Road, Hayes, Middlesex, UB4 0JN.
In addition, Countryside Books, the publishers, are offering the book to Staines Guardian readers at a special price of £10.95 £1 off the cover price of £11.95 inclusive of postage and packing. Call 01635 43816.
