Two recent court decisions have recognised that contractors must accept responsibility for their tradesmen. In the first case, Abcab Roofing Ltd, of Homefield Road, Walton on Thames, was fined £700 and ordered to pay costs of £385 at Dorking Magistrates' Court on Monday last week after pleading guilty to misleading advertising. In the second instance, AA Homecare Services Limited, of Margaret Street, London, was fined £3,000 with costs of £3,611 after pleading guilty at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday last week to making a misleading statement that a central heating boiler was unsafe.
