VOLUNTEERS scored highly off the pitch when the Football Association (FA) handed out awards to recognise their dedication to the smooth running of the club.
Six members of Harrow Borough FC's backroom staff were presented with Volunteers in Football awards, which have just been established by the FA.
Club president Jim Rogers was among those singled out for his dedication to the team, alongside Ollie Williams, John Tidd, Alec Myers, Peter Webber and Bill Warwick.
They received their awards at a ceremony at Hendon FC's Claremont Road ground on Thursday last week.
A club spokesman said: "Duties regularly undertaken by these people keep the club going. These include kit-washing, grounds keeping, electrical maintenance, being a dressing room attendant and operating the turnstile."
