Staines Town 1 Wealdstone 1 (Nov 10)
Staines Town claimed a point from their game against Wealdstone, despite having to soak up constant pressure.
Andy Carter in the Stones goal had just one simple catch to make in the entire first half. The opening goal came on 41 minutes. Somers wriggled past three defenders before unleashing a shot which went in off both posts to give Wealdstone the lead.
After the break, Staines came back into the game and equalised when Butler emerged from between a mass of bodies and fired a superb 20-yard shot past Carter stranded in the Wealdstone goal.
Despite all their efforts, Staines could not build on their goal and the visitors quickly took control of the game again and had three good chances to score, the best opportunity falling to Hammatt, but his header was pushed onto the post by Town's keeper.
Staines will have been the happier of the sides after this one-sided affair.
