PRIVATE dealers selling cars from the roadside are being clamped down on in a bid to clean up the streets of Bromley.
In one day, three cars were taken from Croydon Road, Anerley, and two cars were removed from Anerley Hill.
Four of the vehicles have since been reclaimed by their owners after they paid a £125 release fee.
The remaining vehicle will be crushed if not claimed within 28 days of being seized.
Chairman of the council's environmental services committee Councillor Jennifer Hillier said: "These cars not only spoil the environment but use valuable parking space. Private car dealers must realise that this council is determined to rid Bromley's roads of this illegal activity."
Cars seen advertised for sale on the side of the road can be reported to the council's highway enforcement team on 020 8313 4798.
