A new course is being set up in Bromley for youngsters with a desire to become pop stars.

Sisters Donna and Bonnie Sullivan, who run D&B Theatre School, in Bromley Road, got the idea for the course after some of their students were snapped up by the pop music industry.

Beginning in January 2002, the course will teach 10 to 20-year-olds to sing and dance.

Bonnie Sullivan, 29, said: "Record management companies kept asking me if I had anyone who would be fantastic for a girl group or boy band.

"So I thought it would be wonderful to create a pop course. If people have got raw talent, determination and a great voice, then there is loads we can do with them.

"I would love to see the next Ricky Martin but I don't know if I would be able to let go of him. He may have to stay in my office."

Among the theatre school's success stories is Lee Missen, from Bexleyheath, who was in boy band Code Red.

And Marvin Humes, who plays Robbie Waring in Holby City, is making his debut album.

The 16-year-old, from Woolwich, will work with songwriters Andrew Levy and Alan Simpson, who have written for Kylie Minogue and The Brand New Heavies.
