WE, the people of the Roman Catholic Parish of Saint Peter the Apostle, Woolwich, are deeply concerned to learn people of other faith communities have been subjected to verbal and physical abuse in the wake of September 11.
As a Christian community we must oppose all intolerance and racism.
Building a society in which all children can live, grow and worship in safety cannot be achieved if we resort to verbal and physical abuse. We sign this statement as a symbolic gesture of our unity and our hope for our nation
