A SWANLEY man has raised the most money in the country for the British Legion so far when he cycled to Paris.

Alan Brown, 63, of Woodview Road, raised £5,104.50 after taking part in a four-day cycle from London to Paris and was awarded by the Swanley branch last week.

But the grandfather, who completed his 296th mile cycling up the Champs Elysee to cheers from Parisians, was quick to thank everyone else.

Telling the News Shopper how people helped him, he said: "I would like to thank all my supporters for all the money raised."
