Your paper seems to be full of disgusted residents demanding money be spent cleaning up graffiti. This is a short-sighted response, providing graffiti artists with a fresh canvas.
You will never rid the world of graffiti while we have young, neglected brains walking around with something to say and nobody to say it to.
Look at how art and self-expression is sidelined in schools, and then wonder why it spills out onto the street. All expression is expression, whether it's pleasing to the eye or not.
Work out the causes of young people's frustrations, and maybe you'll start to get them back on your side.
