(Women's Division One EHL)OLD Loughtonians Ladies were shot down by a 15-year-old wonder kid on Saturday.
England international Alex Danson scored both the goals that eventually separated the two sides, who had gone into this fixture in joint second place in the league.
As expected the game proved to be very tight, with both sides failing to capitalise on some good chances during a goalless first half.
Loughts' keeper Natalie Goodhill had been kept busy before the break, although she saved easily anything thrown at her by the visitors.
However, her work rate increased in the second half, as Trojans increased the tempo of the game.
Danson underlined her huge talent in the 39th minute, when she attacked down the centre, pulled the ball to her right and fired home past Goodhill.
The visitors continued to dominate, with Old Loughts struggling to create chances. On those rare occasions when they found themselves up field, they always failed to capitalise.
In the 59th minute Danson once again proved to be the thorn in the Essex girls' side, when she attacked down the middle, weaving her way through the defence before striking the ball through the stranded Goodhill's legs.
and then come up against Trojans in a cup fixture on Sunday.Y
