(Printwise Ladies East Division Two South)WOODFORD-based Crostyx Ladies' first XI recorded a convincing 5-1 win away to Hertford on Saturday in the Printwise Ladies East Division 2 South League.
Crostyx's attacking play brought goals in the first half from Gill Woods and Keeley Pratt.
The second half saw the vistors maintain control with Pratt getting her second to make it 3-0. In a lapse of concentration, Hertford pulled one back before Crostyx piled on the pressure to score twice more in retaliation through Carrie Curtis and Sue Mouat. The ladies will hope to build on their win at home to Burnt Ash this weekend.
Crostyx Men were at home to Clacton on Saturday and had a far harder time of it. The home side survived a barrage of early pressure, with keeper Hugh Brown saving innumerable short corners.
Late in the second half, Clacton conceded numerous yellow cards as Crostyx turned up the heat. Crostyx's winning goal came two minutes from time with Gareth Ingram having the first two shots saved before smacking the third home.
The win puts Crostyx in third place in the league.
