Police arrested a man on terrorism charges relating to the attacks in the United States on September 11 during a raid on an address in Tooting on Wednesday morning.
Following an investigation carried out at the request of the FBI, officers from the Met's anti-terrorist branch arrested the 30-year-old man under section 40 of the Terrorism Act at about 10am on Wednesday.
Section 40 relates to the police's powers to arrest people suspected of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
As the Wandsworth Borough News went to press yesterday (Thursday), the man was still being interviewed at Paddington Green police station.
A spokesman said the man would not be named unless charges are brought against him.
