Further to your article "parking is set to be the new controversial issue".

Like all town centre management matters, parking has to be balanced between the residents, the employees, visitors and shoppers, and it is something the Town Centre Management Group has always attempted to redress for the benefit of all.

The traders have been mindful that as Sutton becomes busier, particularly on Sundays, consideration needs to be given particularly to residents which regards to the CPZ.

My statistics indicate for September, generally speaking, traders were very happy.

I noticed parking is free at Blue Water but of course it costs petrol to get there and when I passed on a Sunday it was taking people and hour and a half to enter the centre due to congestion.

Yes, it would be very nice to have parking free at Christmas but at the end of the day it has to be paid for by someone.

It was good to see Surrey House's planning application was approved and, yes, there are a limited number of parking spaces but I am sure a lot of people who will want these properties will probably not have a car due to Sutton's good transport links and the location of these flats.
