NEC Harlequins head coach John Kingston believes his team are starting to show the mental and physical toughness needed for success in the Zurich Premiership.
Despite Friday nights 13-13 draw with Northampton Saints when Quins failed to hold onto a 13-3 lead with 20 minutes to go Kingston was pleased with his side.
In the last five games we have only lost once. I think we are improving and becoming a hard side to beat, he said.
I felt very proud of the group. They all put in a vast amount of effort and commitment.
Kingston also paid tribute to his sides improved defensive ability. Since conceding 70 points in their first two home games against London Irish and Bristol, Quins have conceded the same number of points in their last five matches.
This shows we have improved as a team, said Kingston. With our internationals away, the rest of the players have shown they can cope.
Apart Jason Leonard, Will Greenwood, Keith Wood and Dan Luger, Kingston has Nick Greenstock (knee injury) and Pat Sanderson (international sevens tournament) missing for tonights home Premiership game against Saracens.
