I would like to thank Stephen Smith for his letter (WBN, November 2) explaining why our taxi driving friend Mike Squires is so anxious to get cyclists off the roads and on to share what little pavements and paths we pedestrians have left to us - hence his tirades week after week in our local paper.
Pedestrians do not want shared paths - for all the obvious reasons - and if Mr Squires is unable to comprehend this we can only feel sorry for him.
Can I also thank Derek Purcell for his many letters putting the point of view of the pedestrian so clearly and concisely.
