The work carried out by Wandsworth and Merton Law Centre, in Tooting, has been praised by the Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith.
In a speech to the annual meeting, Lord Goldsmith commended the centre's success rates in housing, immigration, benefit appeals and employment and its links with the local community.
He said: "Law centres are a key element in the battle against social exclusion and the work of the centre is a clear example of this."
The centre, based in Tooting High Street, offers free legal advice to people living in Wandsworth and Merton.
