BromleY Swimming Club raced to a great victory in second round of Speedo League galas held at West Wickham, writes Gordon Law.

The 17-point win over Southend-on-Sea was led by fine wins by both Bromley club captains, Marc Brockwell, in the open breaststroke, and Katie Barrett in the open backstroke.

Other fine winning swims came from Felicity Gilmore (11 and under backstroke); Harvey Jewell (11 and under butterfly); Lucy Gilmore (13 and under backstroke); Kristian Powell (13 and under backstroke); Steven O'Neill (open backstroke); Xavier Mohammed in the 11 and under breaststroke and freestyle.

Nicholas Brabner, in winning the 13 and under butterfly, produced probably his best swim ever for the club, while Elizabeth Farmiloe was also victorious in the open breaststroke.

Much of the success was due to the strength in depth shown by the relay squads, with 11 first places.

There were: boys 11 and under freestyle and medley; girls 13 and under medley and freestyle; boys 13 and under medley; boys 15 and under freestyle and medley; ladies open medley and freestyle and the mens open medley and freestyle.
