LIGHTING UP: The Orpington Christmas lights will be illuminated at 6.30pm on November 29, by Bromley Mayor John Holbrook. After, there will be fireworks above the Walnuts shopping centre. From 5pm the centre will also host a Christmas market with rides, a martial arts display, Orpington College's variety show and an appearance by Father Christmas.
SPECIAL SERVICE: St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Plaistow Lane, Bromley, is holding a service at 8pm on November 22, for anyone who has had a miscarriage or still-born child. CHRISTMAS FAIR: Penge Congregational Church, at 172 High Street, holds its Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 24. Festivities include a tombola and stalls selling cakes and Christmas goods and take place from 10am to 2pm. Funds raised will pay for improvements to the halls.
