Blackheath's second visit to the Forest of Dene in a few short weeks was not as profitable as the last against Cinderford, this time a strong Lydney side held the upper-hand and rightly deserved the points, winning 22-12.
From the outset, Blackheath's line-outs were put under pressure and their opponents were allowed to ge their hands in on too many occasions.
Lydney continued to pile on the pressure but the deadlock was broken in the 20th minute when Jon Griffin gave Club the lead with a penalty.
They held the lead for 10 minutes before Roberts scored a good try in the corner, but Edwards missed the kick.
Club regained the lead in the 40th minute with a Griffin penalty, but the old injury time jinx hit the visitors again, when well into first-half overtime Edwards kicked another penalty.
The second half was pretty much like the first. The only continuity Club managed in the game resulted in a try.
From a penalty, Club took a scrum and another penalty, which led to a ruck under the posts allowing Dave Glendinning to ground the ball behind the line.
Jon Griffin converted to reduce the deficit, but Lydney soon scored a try and penalty to clinch their victory.
Old Colfeians gave second place Launceston the fright of their lives, leading for most of the game, before losing to a late penalty try, 23-18.
Colfes started in good style with a penalty by Matt Townsend after two minutes and led the scoring until the 14th minute when the away side equalised.
On the half-hour, Launceston took the lead with a converted try and five minutes later, Colfes' Rob Berry stole away from a scrum for a try which Townsend converted from the touchline to make it 10-all.
In the second half, two players were consigned to the sin-bin and, in the 43rd minute, Townsend scored a further penalty and continued to mount pressure and was rewarded with an Alex Wicks try.
Launceston replied with a penalty try and in the penultimate minute and added another penalty in the stoppage time.
Colfes host Lydney in the league on Saturday at 2.30pm.
Despite matching their opponents for long periods, Charlton Park lost their league match against East Grinstead 20-3. Their only points came with a penalty kick from Sam Naden.
A scratch Shooters Hill side had an unfortunate loss against a well-established Sidcup team at home at the weekend, going down a miserable 24 points to five.
Substitute scrum-half Scott Perfect scored a try in a compreghensive defeat.
Though winning the try count three to one, Brocklians remain pointless in Kent 1, after losing 19-18 to Gillingham Anchorians.
Danny Luxford, Paul Holman and Andy Legge got their tries, while Luxford scored a penalty.
