POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two vicious street robberies in Anerley just four days apart.
Officers are investigating the possibility the violent incidents, which both took place in Maberley Road, may be linked.
In the first incident, on November 11, a 27-year-old woman was approached from behind, thrown to the floor, punched and kicked in the face.
The woman, who was walking near the junction with Hamlet Road at 2am, had her black leather handbag, purse, cash and keys stolen by the offender, who was described as a 6ft man wearing a grey hooded top. She was treated at Bromley Hospital for bruising to both eyes, cuts and grazes and neck pain.
On November 15, a 37-year-old man had his Ericsson mobile phone stolen when he was also attacked from behind in the same area at 12.05am.
He was aware of a group of youths, one of whom told him to "Give us what you've got".
The man tried to fend them off but was punched and kicked to the floor. He was treated at Mayday Hospital, in Croydon, for a split eyebrow, black eyes and a broken nose.
Anyone with information should call PC Michael Grimshaw at Bromley police robbery squad on 020 8284 8966.
