The Shirley Business Association is gearing up for its seventh annual Shirley Christmas Lights Street Party this Friday (November 23).
The evening's festivities will kick off at 6.15pm with entertainment from the T.S. Endeavour Band followed by a performance by the Spring Park Choral Society.
At 7.15pm the Christmas Lights will be switched on by a mystery guest followed by the prize giving for this year's Harry Potter Christmas Competition (Entry forms available from Fred Dawes newsagents).
The grand parade, led by Father Christmas, will then set off on its annual journey down the Wickham Road where Father Christmas will retire to his grotto which, this year, will be at the Christmas Fair in the Parish Hall. Joining him on his journey will be a stilt walker, previously seen at The Dome and Des Kay in his eye catching mobile cycle display.
The Christmas Fair will be full of Christmas bargains and all the shops in Shirley will be open for business until 9pm.
