HOLIDAYMAKERS are being advised to dig out their drachmas, pesetas and francs as these currencies will soon be taken out of circulation.
From January 1, next year, 12 countries including Greece, Spain, France, Portugal and the Republic of Ireland will be converting to the euro.
Anyone keeping holiday cash for next year's break is advised to convert it to euros.
Existing currencies will circulate alongside the euro for a limited time in the new year, but will not be accepted by the end of February.
A leaflet dealing with all of the changes is available on www.euro.gov.uk
