Charlton and West Ham drew 4-4 in the match of the
season against West Ham at The Valley on Monday night.
The Hammers shocked the Addicks when Paul Kitson, who had a loan spell at The Valley when they won the Division title, scored his first Premiership goal for 30 months in the second minute with a first-time right-footed shot which went in off Dean Kiely's left-hand post.
Kitson then produced a super one-handed save from Kiely but Charlton, and Euell, responded and the club's record signing scored at the second attempt after Dailly had allowed a free-kick to brush off his head behind him in the 21st minute.
In the 27th minute Repka gave the ball away on he edge of his own penalty area and Johansson squared for Euell to shoot from an angle past Hislop. 2-1
Enter Paulo di Canio. The Italian wizard released Scott Minto with a superb pass and the former Addick crossed first time for Kitson to side-foot beyond Kiely. 2-2.
It was thrill-a-minute stuff and soon after the break Charlton went ahead again when Scott Parker played in Johannson to slip the ball past Hislop.
But then another di Canio-
inspired attack led to his cross finding Sinclair at the far post and he squared the ball for
Kitson to tap in for his hat-trick after 63 minutes.
The drama was not over and ex-Addick Jermaine Defoe came on to replace three-goal Kitson put West Ham 4-3 ahead seven minutes from time.
But a minute into stoppage Johannson netted with a brillian overhead kick. 4-4. What a finish, what a game!
