A Colindale-based police officer has recorded a CD of songs in memory of his nine-year-old daughter who died of a brain haemorrage.

Lea Caetano a student at Dollis Junior School in Pursley Road, Mill Hill died suddenly of arteriovenous malformation in 1999.

Her father, Detective Sergeant Tony Caetano, created the songs, all based on Lea's life with the help of friends, including other police officers. Det Sgt Caetano completed last year's London Marathon to raise £2,000 towards a nature garden at Dollis Junior. Her former classmates christened it by releasing spiders, slow worms and other small creatures.

Det Sgt Caetano, who launched the Lea Caetano Arteriovenus Malformation fund after his daughter's death, said this week he was hoping for record company interest in his latest project.

"I want to get some sort of recognition by someone like a record producer or publicist to see if they might produce the CD to help raise money for Lea's charity," he said.

"The tracks would be ideal for a musical. Each track has moving words on it about the loss of a child and how dear she was to her father's heart."
