LOVERS of the beautiful game will be out in force this Wednesday for the kick off of The Mayor's School Cup.
The new football competition, organised by Millwall Community Scheme and Lewisham Council, is set to attract players from secondary schools throughout the borough.
Year 7 boys and girls will compete in separate leagues, although it is hoped the cup will soon become an annual fixture for all ages.
Councillor Dave Sullivan, Mayor of Lewisham, said: "The competition is specifically targeted at youngsters who are making the transition from primary to secondary school, to involve them in extra-curricular activities."
League information is available at www.millwallfc.co.uk
